Performing Factory Reset on Amazon Kindle 1

Factory or Hard (Full) Reset:

It may be necessary to perform a reset if your device fails to respond when buttons are pressed or the screen is tapped.

Warning: 

This will erase all your personal information, any contacts stored on your device and any programs that have been installed. You should only perform a clean boot when all other options have failed to restore your device to an operational state.

Instructions to Reset Amazon Kindle 1:

1. To reset Kindle 1, you need to open the back cover first.
2. Turn your Kindle over so that the back cover is facing you.
3. Slide the back cover off by pressing the cover firmly while sliding the cover to the right with your thumbs.
4. Use a paper clip to press the reset button on the top left of the battery.
5. The kindle will flash a few times and reset.
